This solid base can be extended with Project and Construction Management modules for managing mine/plant construction. For operational mines the MYOB Greentree solution includes Mobile and Fixed Plant Maintenance, Stockpile/Pit costing, Supply Chain Management and full Payroll/HR management. For larger, multinational resource companies, the Greentree extends in multi-currency, multi-company financial management in the financials while meeting the increasing demands of HSE, Certification management, Employee Development, and Recruitment in HR.

The Supply Chain process can include the complete requisition to payment, including import/shipments management, rule based approvals, Purchase Orders, and Supplier invoice control and matching. All these functions including Greentree’s comprehensive payroll are provided by a single Greentree database without the need of any 3rd-party add-ons and interfacing.

Addax has a Tenement Management module that integrates with the General Ledger and tags all exploration transactions, regardless of the source of those transactions, with the tenement code.

The Tenement Management module tracks transactional statistics such as metres drilled and assays processed, and key information for each tenement such as date acquired, relinquish date etc. This culminates in standardised statutory reporting such as Form 5s and geospatial analytical reporting being readily available.

Financial Management is core to all businesses, and mining is no different. MYOB Greentree offers a comprehensive Financial Suite of modules that includes all the standard accounting features you would expect of any accounting system.

Greentree’s General Ledger also provides exceptional versatile methods of tagging transactions with additional, multi-level information making the tracking of details for FBT, Tenements, or any other sub-analysis possible.

Using this functionality allows mining operations to easily track projects without the need to implement and carry the overhead of a full Job Costing module – i.e. for Construction projects that are managed under an EPCM/EPM contract. Of course for large, self-managed projects, Greentree has a comprehensive Job Costing module.

For larger groups or multi-national operations, Multi-Currency/Multi-Company accounting is critical. MYOB Greentree accommodates these needs with a comprehensive suite of Global Finance modules.

Inter-company transaction processing (sometimes called multi-company quad accounting) is available as standard in Greentree’s General Ledger.

The Foreign Currency module provides foreign currency capability across the entire system and automatically processes transactions such as unrealised and realised exchange gain/losses where required.

Where subsidiaries with different functional currencies need to be consolidated we would recommend, in fact it is almost critical, using a ‘Hard’ consolidation process using Greentree’s consolidation module. A ‘Hard’ consolidation processes transactions from subsidiary company ledgers into a consolidated company ledger, calculating exchange rates on consolidation.

If only one functional currency is used across all companies ‘Soft’ consolidations using Greentree’s excellent integration with Excel or WebView Financial reports module is often adequate. A ‘Soft’ consolidation is where subsidiary ledgers are consolidated through a reporting mechanism and no transactional processing happens.

For the financial management of mine construction projects done using an EPM or EPCM contract, we recommend using a simple Budgeting, Commitment, and Cost tracking solution provided using MYOB Greentree’s transaction analysis capabilities. This allows:

  • A construction Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) to be used that matches the EPM/EPCM contract without affecting the General Ledger chart of accounts
  • Tracking of Actual Costs by WBS
  • Tracking of Committed Expenses by WBS
  • Tracking of Budgets, Forecasts, and Re-Forecasts by WBS
  • Work in Progress Accounting, followed by capitalisation of Capital Expenditure for Fixed Assets and other Balance Sheet costs and the write down of expensed components

For self-managed mine construction projects, Addax recommends the use of Greentree’s Advanced Job Costing module. This provides:

  • All the items listed above
  • Contractor/Employee Timesheet and Cost Allocation by WBS
  • Plant and Equipment costing and management (by WBS if required)
  • Automatic interfacing with Pay/wage Enterprise Bargaining Agreement (EBA) rates

All mining operations require their plant and equipment to be routinely serviced and maintained to maximise productivity and plant utilisation.
MYOB Greentree provides comprehensive Plant Maintenance solutions for fixed and mobile plant that include:

  • Ability to charge plant to cost centre’s and/or ore types based on utilisation, providing accurate costing by pit, bench, ore type, department, etc
  • Clear visibility of equipment costs by category, including fixed costs such as financing, overhead costs such as depreciation, operational costs such as fuel, and maintenance costs such as repairs
  • Planned maintenance scheduling
  • Forecast inventory requirements for servicing
  • Unlimited time based or unit of measure (i.e. Kms) based maintenance cycles
  • Allocation of service personnel time and stores issues to individual service requests and work orders
  • Management and assignment of documents such as Standard Operating Practice manuals (SOPs) to specific plant and work cycles

Unlike standard alone maintenance solutions, Greentree’s plant maintenance solution is fully integrated and part of the overall ERP system.It is not a 3rd party add-on so Purchase, Inventory, and Pay related transactions are automatically integrated.

For mining operations supply chain management is the life blood to production. For remote operations the requirement for well planned and easily identified supply requirements is even more cruicial.

MYOB Greentree has an inventory module that not only manages simple analysis such as stock on hand, but includes capability to manage more advanced features such as stock supersessions, companion parts, and substitution.

At Addax we understand mining stock consignment and supply contract processes, which we integrate with Greentree’s Supply Chain modules. For overseas operations (and some local operations) Greentree also has an Import Costing module to track consolidated deliveries by shipment or container. Naturally, it is all fully multi-currency capable.

Occupational Health and Safety is an important part of modern industry, and no more so than in mining. For smaller operations a simple Incident Reporting mechanism is required and for larger operations this needs to extend into a comprehensive incident process management solution to ensure every incident is processed consistently and completely based on the category and severity of the incident.

Simple Incident Reporting can be managed within the MYOB Greentree Occupational Health and Safety module, but when combined with Greentree’s Business Process Management and Service modules Greentree is able to apply consistent and comprehensive standards and reporting to any organisations OH&S policy.

This allows all of the following to be based on incident category and severity:
