Unlike most Job Cost systems, Greentree’s job costing can be designed and structured as loosely or tightly coupled to the General Ledger as your business requires. For many Professional Service businesses project costing is the heart of their operational and business management. Using MYOB Greentree’s Job Cost module this financial and operational management cost structure can be designed independently of the General Ledger with mapping rules that determine where financial transactions are posted into the General Ledger.

As a result Job/Project structures can be designed independently of the General Ledger structure giving Project Managers freedom to design client projects and billing systems to meet their needs.

In Greentree, projects can be as simple as a list of Jobs, or they can be broken down to an unlimited number of child/grand-child jobs, and the child/grand-child structure can go down to an unlimited number of levels.

Each Job can also be broken down to an unlimited number of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and each WBS can be limited to only allow selected cost types and employee groups. This allows the firm, if required, to ensure technical staff only work on projects, or sections of a project, that they are assigned to.

Jobs and WBS structures can all be scheduled with start/end dates, percentage complete, and project completion management. These features allow the automated calculation of earned revenue versus actual revenue to create revenue recognition entries allowing the business to report on actual compared to earned revenue, ‘S’ curve analysis etc.

Occupational Health and Safety is an important part of modern industry, and no more so than in an industry that provide professional services that often need to work in hazardous situations with potentially lethal plant and machinery.
